Description

An almost iconic sight of the early spring crescents is the Ash-gray Earthlight, which is actually doubly reflected sunlight. Capturing photos of the crescent moon at this time is not difficult, but the dynamic range of most cameras is not able to show both the shaded part and the illuminated part of an image well. Either software tricks and different exposure times can be applied, or in rare cases wait for unexpected clouds and trick with a cloud filter to reduce the brightness of the bright part of the floating cloud, thus solving the issue of a crescent Moon that can be made into a single image and at the same time.

I took the picture with a 120/900 Skywatcher APO.
